With the release of iOS 27, Find My will now intelligently use the Apple Watch's location when it's separated from the iPhone. This ensures that your shared location accurately reflects your actual whereabouts, benefiting users who frequently travel with just their Apple Watch. This automatic update applies to both standard and cellular Apple Watches, with cellular models offering more reliable location transmission.

Furthermore, watchOS 27 features a unified Find My app, consolidating the previous Find Items, Find People, and Find Devices sections. The new interface boasts a full-screen map layout, allowing for intuitive navigation using the Digital Crown. Both iOS 27 and watchOS 27 are currently in beta and are expected to be released as free updates this fall.
