Following months of Liquid Glass beta testing, WhatsApp is expanding access to a redesigned interface for its iPad app, featuring a new Mac-like sidebar. Previously, the company adapted its iOS app for the visual overhaul in October, but the iPad redesign arrived later with a limited beta test last June. The new sidebar mirrors the layout already available on WhatsApp for Mac, providing quick access to Chats, Updates, Communities, Calls, and Meta AI.

Users can hide the sidebar to expand the chat list and conversation view for a less compressed experience. The feature is currently available to some beta testers on the latest TestFlight build, though some regular App Store users are also beginning to see it. As with previous WhatsApp rollouts, wider availability may take time. iPad users should benefit from the more tablet-friendly layout once the update reaches them.
