Meta is bringing its Liquid Glass redesign to WhatsApp for Mac, continuing the interface update that slowly rolled out to iOS users last month. After testing the new look on iOS since October, WhatsApp now aims to create a consistent design experience across all its platforms, including a redesigned sidebar with text labels and updated chat interface.

The Mac redesign includes several key changes: a sidebar with text labels beside icons, an updated chat bar, refreshed attachment menu, and locked chats section. Currently in development and not yet available to beta testers, the Liquid Glass interface was activated by WABetaInfo for preview. The changes mirror updates already seen on iOS.

WhatsApp plans to align this design foundation across iPhone, iPad, and Mac platforms. The interface will soon match across all devices, bringing consistency to the Liquid Glass experience. This unified approach follows recent Liquid Glass elements appearing in Threads, suggesting Meta may finally be speeding up the rollout of its new design system.
