WhatsApp Liquid Glass redesign expands to reactions

Meta continues expanding its Liquid Glass redesign for WhatsApp on iOS, with TestFlight builds revealing updates to message reactions and context menus. Following earlier beta changes to the voice message player, Meta now aims to apply the same design language to more chat interface elements, though these updates remain unreleased to testers.

The latest beta shows WhatsApp updating its reaction tray to feature a more solid appearance while refining context menus for messages. Currently, these elements use simpler background styles with limited transparency effects, creating visual inconsistency with other parts of the app that have already adopted the new design language.

Most users still see the pre-Liquid Glass interface as the rollout remains extremely limited. While no release timeline exists for these changes, their continued appearance in beta builds indicates Meta actively works on the redesign, suggesting broader adoption may be closer than users expect.
