Gareth Damian Martin, creator of Citizen Sleeper, has unveiled Signet City, a new "fungalpunk" RPG where players exist as parasites moving through a mushroom-infested city. The game features stark monochrome visuals and influences players to shape conversations and navigate its locations through unconventional means.

Signet City draws inspiration from 1980s UK industrial cities and uses screentoned manga, pen and ink drawings, and black and white photography as visual touchpoints. Unlike Martin's previous distant-future settings, this game explores an alternate reality while critiquing capitalism and ecological devastation through the lens of fungi, influenced by Anna Tsing's book.

Scheduled for PC release on Steam later this year, the game marks Martin's first collaboration with Eli Rainsberry for soundtrack and Tom Kitchen for environmental art. Signet City represents a deliberate departure from Martin's previous work while maintaining their signature narrative style through the unique metaphor of parasitic existence.
