Seismic Squirrel has announced Aether & Iron, a narrative-driven RPG launching on PC via Steam in Spring 2026. Players will step into the role of Gia, a smuggler navigating an alternate 1930s New York City. The game features turn-based vehicular combat and a story penned by writers with credits on Mass Effect and Far Cry.

Set in a vertical city transformed by the discovery of "aether," a key component for anti-gravitational technology, the game centers on customizing your fleet of aether-powered vehicles. You'll recruit unique companions and make choices that shape both your path and the city's fate, blending combat with a deep, character-driven underworld narrative.

The development team is leveraging its experience from titles like Sovereign Syndicate to deliver a distinct visual style inspired by 1930s detective comics and art deco. A free demo is currently available on Steam, offering an early look at its tactical combat and branching story before the full release next year.
