Apple is cutting more than 200 jobs across multiple teams, including those working on Vision Pro, Siri, and software engineering, according to a new Bloomberg report. An Apple spokesperson said the changes were made to evolve the business to deliver the best experiences for users. While new roles will be created, a limited number of existing positions are impacted. The company is largely shutting down a Vision Pro team focused on gaming and scaling back production of Immersive Video, though it still plans to produce a smaller number of videos in-house and encourage third-party content.

Around 100 of the job cuts come from the Vision Pro group, with another 100 positions eliminated from Siri and software teams. The Siri reorganization is tied to the launch of Siri AI, which is built on a revamped technical architecture requiring updated expertise. Apple's Intelligent Systems Experience team is also affected as part of a broader effort to realign teams around AI-powered capabilities.

Despite the cuts, Apple has told employees that Vision Pro and vision OS are not going away. The company is still considering a new Vision Pro model for release as early as the end of 2028. In the near term, Apple is focused on launching smart glasses that won’t support immersive video or advanced gaming titles.
