DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Review: Best Vlogging Camera Gets Better

DJI's Osmo Pocket 4 builds on its predecessor's success with meaningful upgrades that matter to vloggers. The new 1-inch sensor delivers noticeably better low-light performance, while the addition of 107GB onboard storage eliminates the need for SD cards. Two new physical buttons—one for dedicated zoom and another customizable for quick access to common functions—make the camera more intuitive to use.

Video quality sees significant improvements thanks to the larger sensor and expanded shutter speeds that now go down to 1/4 for creative light effects. The camera retains its 4K capability but adds 10-bit D-Log for professional color grading. DJI's claimed 2x "lossless" zoom in 4K proves largely accurate, though the 4x zoom in 1080p shows digital artifacts. The Pocket 4 also introduces on-camera "Film Tones" similar to Fujifilm's film simulations, offering six preset looks without post-processing.

The Pocket 4's modular design opens possibilities for future accessories, starting with a magnetic fill light included in the Creator Combo. Battery life improves by nearly 20 percent to 1,545mAh, translating to about 30 extra minutes of recording time. While lacking optical zoom and still capped at 3K in portrait mode, the Pocket 4 excels at what it does best: delivering exceptional vlogging footage in an incredibly portable package that builds on an already winning formula.
