DJI has officially launched the Osmo Pocket 4P in China, exactly one month after unveiling it at the Cannes Film Festival. The pocket gimbal camera starts at CNY 3,799 ($560) for the standard kit, with a Vlog kit priced at CNY 4,299. Pre-orders are available in Classic Black and Pearl White. This release intensifies competition in the compact gimbal market.

The Osmo Pocket 4P features a 1-inch main sensor with LOFIC technology, f/2.0 aperture, and 20mm equivalent focal length. A secondary telephoto camera uses a 1/1.28-inch sensor, f/1.8 aperture, and 60mm equivalent focal length with 3x native optical zoom. The device supports 10-bit video recording, D-Log2 color, and captures 37MP still images. Its 3-axis mechanical gimbal includes intelligent subject tracking for smooth footage.

For video capabilities, the camera records up to 4K resolution at 60fps and captures slow-motion footage at 4K 240fps. A 2-inch rotating touchscreen reaches 1,000 nits peak brightness. The 230g unit includes 103GB internal storage, expandable via microSD to 1TB, and a 1,545mAh battery charging to 80% in 18 minutes.

The launch pits DJI against the Insta360 Luna Ultra, with both companies engaged in patent litigation. DJI's lawsuit alleges patent infringement while Insta360 has filed counterclaims involving gimbal and 360-degree camera technologies. This legal battle adds tension to an already competitive market segment.
