Snapdragon Summit & Qualcomm

Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon Sound Elite Gen 2, a chip designed for camera-equipped headphones that brings personal AI to audio wearables. The company also founded the "Personal AI Health Alliance" with Global Health Connector to advance wearable health tech. Meanwhile, Microsoft unveiled the Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 13 with the Snapdragon X2 Plus chip.

Meta Connect 2026

Meta announced its VR Glasses at Meta Connect 2026, alongside the camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio. The VR Glasses are 83% lighter than Apple Vision Pro and weigh just 100g, launching in spring 2027. In a hands-on, hand and eye tracking proved superior to a controller. The $1,300 device looks like the Vision Pro sequel Apple should be making. Meta also introduced holographic avatars that are surprisingly realistic, coming to the Ray-Ban Display with feature updates in five new markets this fall. The Muse Charm, a standalone AI device in a Tamagotchi-like form factor, is confirmed for a holiday release. Meta's Muse AI agent is also coming to its AI glasses. The company now has over 100 different AI glasses styles, including the new Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 with better battery life and a price hike. The Ray-Ban Meta Audio ditches the camera entirely, while FDA-cleared hearing enhancement arrives for $150 after a free trial. Meta is also teaming up with Blackpink's Lisa for its next smart glasses collab. Users can now opt out of Meta training its AI on visual data from smart glasses.
