Microsoft Auto SR 扩展至 Intel Panther Lake

Microsoft has expanded Automatic Super Resolution (Auto SR) support to Intel's flagship "Panther Lake" mobile platform, adding Intel Core Ultra Series 3 designs to its compatibility list. Introduced in 2024, Auto SR provides hardware-agnostic resolution upscaling for NPU-powered devices when native technologies like Intel Xe SS Super Resolution are unavailable. Microsoft recommends using native Xe SS-SR when supported, but Auto SR applies super resolution across existing DirectX 10+ games without requiring game integration.

Preliminary testing on the Intel Arc B390 GPU in "Panther Lake" SoCs shows promising results. In Assassin's Creed Valhalla at native 1600p High settings, the GPU averages 45 FPS. With Auto SR upscaling 1050p to 1600p at Ultra settings, performance rises to 52 FPS — a 15% improvement with higher graphics fidelity. Microsoft targets playable 60 FPS currently, aiming for 90-120 FPS in future iterations.

For texture-heavy titles like Assassin's Creed Shadows, the Arc B390 manages only 31 FPS at native 1600p Very Low settings. Auto SR at Ultra High settings (upscaling 1050p to 1600p) delivers a similar 29 FPS but with significantly improved textures. Microsoft recommends trying Auto SR with titles including Assassin's Creed Shadows, Valhalla, Avowed, Control, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Far Cry 6, and Rainbow Six Siege.
