System76 has updated its Launch mechanical keyboard lineup with a new Prism Black finish and doubleshot PBT shine-through keycaps. The corrosion-resistant keycaps maintain RGB backlighting visibility without washing out the colors. Known for its Linux-first hardware and Pop!_OS operating system, System76 continues expanding its peripheral offerings beyond laptops and desktops.

Both Launch models feature solid aluminum construction and custom open-source PCBs. Tool-free switch swapping is enabled through Kailh MX hot-swap sockets, with Jade, Royal, Silent Pink, and Silent Brown switch options available. The keyboards include per-key RGB lighting, full N-key rollover, and QMK-based firmware that's fully open source.

The compact Launch measures 308.3 mm x 135.1 mm x 30.6 mm with an 84-key layout and includes a four-port USB hub with two USB-C and two USB-A ports running at 10 Gbps. The Launch Heavy offers a 105-key layout at 394 mm x 135.1 mm x 30.3 mm, maintaining the same SuperSpeed USB hub. Pricing starts at $285 for the Launch and $299 for the Launch Heavy, with both including USB-C to USB-C and USB-A to USB-C cables.
