Samsung Display has created the first QD-OLED monitor panel combining 4K resolution with a 360 Hz refresh rate. The 31.5-inch display will debut at COMPUTEX 2026 in Taipei this June. This marks a significant technical achievement since manufacturers previously had to choose between high resolution or ultra-fast refresh rates due to bandwidth limitations.

The panel features Dual Mode technology, allowing users to switch to FHD resolution for an 680 Hz refresh rate ideal for competitive gaming. Samsung Display optimized the panel circuitry and driving system to overcome the pixel charging challenges that previously forced compromises between resolution and speed.

HDR performance reaches VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification, delivering at least 600 nits peak brightness while maintaining black levels at 0.0005 nits or lower. A new V-stripe pixel structure arranges RGB sub-pixels in vertical stripes, dramatically improving text edge sharpness for productivity tasks.

Samsung Display is negotiating with over 10 global customers and plans mass production in the second half of 2024. VP Brad Jung called the panel a 'near-perfect monitor' that exceeds market expectations by combining ultra-high resolution, fast refresh rates, and superior text readability in a single QD-OLED solution.
