Halo Studios has announced that Halo: Campaign Evolved has gone gold, concluding initial development nearly two weeks ahead of its scheduled July 28th launch. This milestone comes after the studio canceled an unannounced Halo project.

While going gold signifies the completion of core development, it does not guarantee a flawless launch, as evidenced by past titles like Borderlands 3. The team will now focus on preparing for release and addressing any potential day-one patches.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a remake of the original Combat Evolved, featuring new weapons, hackable vehicles, expanded difficulty options, and updated graphics built on Unreal Engine 5. The game's development has faced scrutiny, particularly regarding the reported heavy use of generative AI.
