Steam reviews surged with 1,877 new positive reviews on launch day alone, pushing the game to fourth place on the global Steam Top Sellers chart by revenue. The update added new traversal modes, crafting features, pal breeding, and base-building options across single-player and multiplayer modes.

Despite the strong reception, some players criticized new key binds as confusing and the expanded map size for making the world feel empty without massive multiplayer features. However, player counts remained unusually high into Monday, defying the typical post-weekend retention dip.
