Palworld's meteoric trajectory has seemingly continued following its smashing 1.0 launch on July 10. Nearly two weeks after launch, on July 19, the game reached 961,867 concurrent players reported by SteamDB, the highest figure since the game's early access launch in 2024, when it clocked just over 2.1 million concurrent players on SteamDB.

Thanks to the wealth of new content introduced in the 1.0 release, Palworld seems to have high audience retention, with daily peak concurrent player counts surpassing 800,000. In a recent X post addressing the game's success, Pocketpair's CEO and head of publishing and communications, John Buckley, thanked the player base, saying that the game has been "a surreal and life‑changing experience," adding that if he were to guess, that 961,867 figure would be the peak of the 1.0 version's launch, but that he would not consider that a bad outcome.

At the time of writing, Palworld continues to top the Steam Top Sellers chart in second place, only behind Valve's legendary cash cow, Counter‑Strike 2, in global revenue. Buckley’s full comment on the game’s success reads: "Mind‑boggling numbers. Thank you so much, gamers. Palworld 1.0, and Palworld in general, really has been a surreal and life‑changing experience. I’ll make an educated case and say this is Palworld 1.0’s "peak", though by no means would I consider that bad in any way! The support we’ve received over the last two+ years has really been overwhelming. Thank you so much for playing, truly. We hope you had fun in our goofy little game."
