Wooting's App Linking Auto-Switches Keyboard Profiles by App

Wooting has rolled out App Linking, a new feature in the Wootility beta that automatically switches keyboard profiles based on which application is in focus. Users with the Wootility Background Service enabled can have their 80HE or 60HE V2 keyboards transform instantly when moving between apps - no manual profile switching required.

Each profile supports up to eight linked applications, and the keyboards store up to four profiles onboard. These profiles control actuation points, rapid trigger, SOCD, analogue input, key mappings, and RGB lighting. A user could configure a macro pad setup for CAD work, a quieter office profile with lower polling for writing, and a high-performance gaming profile with 8 kHz polling and 0.1 mm actuation for gameplay.

The feature currently has one notable limitation: it doesn't work with Wayland on Linux because that display server isolates applications. Wooting's support team is discussing Wayland compatibility with the community and may add support for certain desktop environments like KDE.
