OnePlus has confirmed it is ending new phone releases in North America and Europe, following months of speculation. This strategic shift signals a significant change for the company, which first entered the market in 2014 with a focus on offering faster, more affordable devices.

After a period of expansion in the US with carriers like T-Mobile and Verizon, OnePlus began prioritizing the Indian market post-pandemic. The company has also become increasingly integrated with its parent company, Oppo, aligning its device releases and software with the larger brand. The OnePlus 15, slated for release in late 2025, will be the last new OnePlus phone available in these regions.

While current OnePlus phones will remain available for purchase and continue to receive software support, the company's future device strategy will focus on markets like India and China. Notably, OnePlus devices globally will transition from their Oxygen OS to Oppo’s Color OS starting with the Android 17 update. Rumors of a potential shutdown of OnePlus's India operations by 2027 are also circulating.
