OnePlus Exits US/Europe, Kills OxygenOS for ColorOS

OnePlus is exiting the U.S. and European markets by the end of this week, confirmed to Android Central. The company is also killing off OxygenOS, with future phones using ColorOS from parent company OPPO. OPPO will take over warranty agreements in Europe, and existing devices will receive scheduled updates within original support periods.

However, OnePlus India remains unaffected, confirmed by Marketing Director Ishita Grover. The China unit continues, but global presence outside these two countries ends. The move follows flagging sales and rising costs, with storage and memory prices inflated until 2028. India contributed over 50% of global shipments, and OnePlus recently launched the Nord CE6, Nord CE6 Lite, and budget OnePlus N6 there.

For users, the biggest change is the switch to ColorOS. After 11 years, OxygenOS is shuttered; existing phones will migrate via platform update. Since OxygenOS merged with ColorOS in 2021, OxygenOS 16 is identical to ColorOS 16. Author Harish Jonnalagadda notes this exit reduces Android choice in North America and Europe.
