OnePlus Exits US & Europe

After canceling its second foldable, OnePlus is officially bowing out of the US and Europe. The decision comes as a joint announcement from OnePlus and Oppo, which will no longer launch new devices in Europe and North America. Oppo says it will absorb OnePlus's technology and philosophy, with co‑founder Peter Lau rejoining Oppo as chief product officer. The move is framed as a “strategic focus,” and neither company has clarified where OnePlus products will continue to appear.

Existing OnePlus owners can expect continued support. The company guarantees after‑sales service, software updates, and existing service channels. In the coming months, Color OS will replace OnePlus's Oxygen OS on devices in Europe and North America. Despite this, Oppo has no immediate plans to launch phones in the US; CEO 粤Elvis Zhou notes Europe remains a key market, citing the Find X9 Ultra as a major European launch. Oppo is also expanding its European teams to push flagship devices, while its UK online shop has been relaunched with a broader catalog.

This strategic shift reflects the quiet years for OnePlus, marked by delays and cancellations such as the Open 2 foldable. With shared hardware and software, the corporate shake‑up is minimal, yet brand awareness remains uneven in a market where Oppo still struggles to leverage its name recognition.
