ChargePoint Launches 600‑kW Express Solo Fast Charger

ChargePoint unveiled its Express Solo DC fast charger, a compact unit that can deliver up to 600 kW of power. Designed for tight urban spaces, the charger supports dual‑vehicle operation and can split the full output or dedicate it all to a single plug.

The Express Solo arrives as battery technology advances; CATL’s recent releases and BYD’s Blade battery already accommodate megawatt‑scale charging. In contrast, U.S. stations cap at 250–400 kW. By matching the power of Formula E pit stops, ChargePoint sets a new benchmark for single‑plug rapid charging.

Its modular design allows expansion to four or eight plugs, and direct DC input eliminates the need for an inverter, cutting installation costs. The Omni Port includes both CCS1 and NACS connectors, ensuring broad vehicle compatibility.

With this launch, ChargePoint positions itself as a leader in high‑power charging infrastructure, offering a solution that could fit in urban gas stations or convenience store lots while meeting the growing demand for faster EV service.
