BYD's new Flash Chargers deliver 1,500 kilowatts per charge, surpassing US 350 kW hyper-fast stations. This speed could reduce charging times to 5 minutes for 80% battery, matching gas pump convenience. The Denza Z9GT, BYD's latest model, will be the first European EV to use these chargers, thanks to its Blade battery.

BYD plans to install 16,000 more in China and 2,000 in Europe by year-end. Technically, the system requires redesigned software, wiring, and grid infrastructure to handle peak loads. Experts note this is a marginal improvement for most drivers, as US owners rarely need such speed.

Grid upgrades and limited adoption remain hurdles.
