The United Soccer League announced that Amanda Vandervort will depart as USL Super League president to pursue other opportunities. She has served as the league's highest-ranking employee since its founding five years ago.

Vandervort led the league’s pivot from a planned second division to a U.S. Soccer-sanctioned first division, launching in 2024. She also helped negotiate the first collective bargaining agreement for players. USL president and CEO Paul Mc Donough praised her leadership, stating she deserves credit for building the league from the ground up.

Her last day is Friday. A search for her successor is underway, while Betsy Haugh, vice president of strategy and development, remains with the organization. The Super League currently features eight teams, though Spokane Zephyr FC folded after its second season.

Prior to USL, Vandervort was chief women's football officer at FIFPRO and held roles at MLS and Women's Professional Soccer. The league is two weeks into its fall season, shifting calendars to align with the NWSL starting in 2027.
