EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers shed the red no-contact jersey and participated in live drills Monday as Week 1 approaches. This marks a significant step in his rehabilitation from a torn ACL, with the team tracking his progress toward being ready for the Dallas Cowboys game on Sunday night, Sept. 13.

Coach John Harbaugh stated it is "reasonable to assume" Nabers will be prepared, noting that the player is doing well according to medical staff. Harbaugh emphasized that Nabers needed to experience contact drills to feel physicality and assess his body's reaction. During Monday's session, Nabers ran smoothly, making an impressive catch while also showing minor rust with a drop and false start.

Nabers tore his ACL and meniscus in his right knee during a win over the Los Angeles Chargers last season. After undergoing surgery in October and additional procedures to remove scar tissue, he returned to training camp. He has practiced consistently this summer, avoiding the physically unable to perform list. The sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft out of LSU recorded 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in his rookie year.
