The five-time US Open champion admits he is nervous about his tennis after a five-year hiatus from singles competition. "I don't know how it's going to go tomorrow," Federer said, noting the uncertainty of returning to the court where he experienced many beautiful moments.

The event features one set of singles against Andy Roddick and one set of doubles with John McEnroe against Roddick and Andre Agassi. Federer firmly ruled out any future competitive comeback in major tournaments, stating, "No, not at all." While he remains fit, he acknowledged that his knees can no longer support professional play following multiple surgeries.

This appearance serves as a proper farewell to New York fans. Federer previously left without saying goodbye after his 2019 loss to Grigor Dimitrov. He now views this exhibition as a chance to say thank you. The trip to New York precedes his enshrinement in the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island.
