Besiktas slam Turkish referee after Trossard incident

Besiktas have condemned a "disgraceful" refereeing performance after Leandro Trossard was slapped in the face with no punishment given during their 1-0 loss to Alanyaspor.

Replays showed Trossard, playing only his second Super Lig match since joining from Arsenal, was clearly slapped by Fidan Aliti. However, referee Adnan Deniz Kayatepe and VAR official Bülent Birincioğlu decided against taking action.

Trossard said: "The decision should clearly have been changed; I think the opponent slapped me. Clear red card."

Besiktas released a scathing statement on X, calling the officiating "a document of shame for Turkish refereeing." They accused Kayatepe of adding "yet another disgraceful performance to his record" and demanded not to see him or Birincioglu in future matches.

"We seek neither advantages nor privileges. We only demand fair and equal officiating," the club said. "We will continue our rightful struggle with determination until this unjust system changes."

Besiktas sit 11th in the table with three points after winning their opener against Eyupsor.
