The Baltimore Ravens now believe center Danny Pinter is out for the season. He injured his right leg during Wednesday's joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings. Reports indicate he tore his right patella tendon.

With Pinter sidelined, the starting center competition involves Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Pocic. Gwyn started Saturday’s preseason game but has never started an NFL game. Pocic, the most experienced center, must prove recovery from a torn Achilles suffered eight months ago.

Another major question surrounds Pro Bowl defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike. He missed the final 15 games last season due to a neck injury and underwent surgery in April. He was activated off the physically unable to perform list on July 29 but has not yet participated in team drills.

Regarding the Sept. 13 opener at the Indianapolis Colts, teammate Minter stated there is no definitive answer if Madubuike will be ready. However, the team feels he is in a good position to help.
