Federal authorities arrested two men in Boise, Idaho on Aug. 24 for defrauding over two dozen women out of approximately $1.3 million. Daejon Love, 35, and Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, face charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud. According to the U.S. Attorney's office, Love created fictitious personas on dating apps, repeatedly posing as a San Francisco 49ers player and a wealthy real estate investor.

He used pseudonyms including Jon Love, Avril Lyto Love, and Jordan Love. Chan posed as Love's financial adviser to bolster the scheme. The fraud spanned more than four years, targeting women in California, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon.

Love convinced victims he was in sincere romantic relationships and promised massive investment returns. He fabricated bank and investment account balances to legitimize the scheme. Once victims ran out of money or asked questions, Love blocked communications.

The FBI identified 26 victims, though officials believe many more exist. Love and Chan received about $1.3 million in total. Love had previously used fake investment accounts and personal loans to solicit funds.

The duo was arrested after Chan flew from California to meet Love at the Boise airport. Both remain in federal custody.
