Mendoza, the Heisman Trophy winner, shows franchise quarterback signs with improved confidence and command of the offense, though he might not be the Week 1 starter. Center Tyler Linderbaum praised his growth in operation and command. Second-round safety Treydan Stukes has gained momentum with strong preseason performance and first-team reps. Third-round edge rusher Keyron Crawford flashes behind veterans Maxx Crosby, Kwity Paye, and Malcolm Koonce but should see rotational snaps.

Third-round lineman Trey Zuhn III is being prepped as a swing tackle. Fourth-round cornerback Jermod Mc Coy rebounded from a rough debut after missing over a year with a knee injury.
