Lions Cut Terrion Arnold Amid Kidnapping Charges

The Detroit Lions released cornerback Terrion Arnold following his arrest on felony charges of armed robbery and kidnapping. A judge set his bond at $1 million Monday, though he remains confined to his Tallahassee residence. Arnold faces four counts of kidnapping and assault, which could result in a life sentence if he is convicted.

Prosecutors claim Arnold orchestrated the abduction and beating of three men he suspected of stealing $100,000 in cash and luxury goods. While Arnold was not present during the assault, two co-defendants have already pleaded guilty and tied him to the crimes. His defense argues there is little evidence that he directed these actions.

Losing Arnold creates a massive void in the secondary since he was slated to start opposite D.J. Reed. The team walks away from a rookie contract with $4.8 million remaining. Detroit now must find a replacement for a first-round pick who was a cornerstone of their defensive plan for the 2024 draft class.
