Former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has cleared waivers and is now a free agent following his release from the team due to felony charges of armed robbery and kidnapping. Arnold, 23, surrendered to authorities on June 24 and was released on $1 million bond.

Prosecutors allege Arnold orchestrated the abduction and assault of three men he believed stole luxury goods and $100,000 from him. While Arnold was not present during the alleged crimes, six associates are accused of carrying them out. Conditions of his bond include no contact with co-defendants or witnesses, confinement to his residence except for NFL activities and court appearances, and surrendering his passport.

The Lions drafted Arnold in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He was expected to start opposite D.J. Reed but his legal troubles have derailed his immediate NFL future. Arnold had two years and $4.8 million remaining on his rookie contract.
