Lions CB Terrion Arnold Arrested on Kidnapping, Robbery Charges

Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold was arrested Wednesday in Tampa, Florida, facing four counts each of kidnapping and armed robbery stemming from a February incident. The charges carry a potential life in prison sentence. Arnold turned himself in at Orient Road Jail and is scheduled for a Thursday court appearance, where prosecutors will seek pretrial detention.

The case connects to a Feb. 1 Airbnb theft where Arnold and others reported property losses exceeding $250,000. Police allege Arnold orchestrated the subsequent kidnapping and robbery on Feb. 4, targeting three men he mistakenly believed stole his belongings. Investigators found Arnold coordinated the attack through a group chat, directing co-defendants during the assault.

Six individuals were previously arrested in connection with the armed robbery, during which victims were pistol-whipped and held at gunpoint. Arnold's attorney stated he categorically denies involvement, questioning the credibility of testimony from convicted felons with potential sentencing incentives.

The Lions acknowledged awareness of the situation but declined comment respecting the legal process. Arnold, selected No. 24 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft from Alabama, recently completed season-ending shoulder surgery and participated in veteran minicamp earlier this month.
