Los Angeles Chargers starting center Bradley Bozeman announced his retirement from the NFL on Instagram, ending an eight-year career that included 110 starts. The former Alabama standout, drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of 2018, spent his final two seasons with the Chargers.

Bozeman's retirement comes after a season where his performance drew significant criticism, particularly as part of one of the league's worst interior offensive lines. Despite the scrutiny, he expressed pride in his accomplishments, telling reporters after the season: "I feel like I had a solid year. A lot of people don't think that, but a lot of people aren't in our room."

With one year remaining on his two-year, $6.5 million contract but no guaranteed money left, Bozeman's $6.935 million cap hit will be removed from the Chargers' books. His departure creates an immediate need at center for Los Angeles, which is projected to have the third-most cap space heading into free agency. The Chargers could target Tyler Linderbaum, a former Ravens first-round pick and one of the top projected free agents, to fill the void.
