DeMarcus Lawrence said he considered retiring after the Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl LX, but his wife convinced him to return for a 13th NFL season. The 34-year-old linebacker told reporters, "I kinda had my mind made up that if I won, I was done." He added, "But I kinda had a bittersweet feeling in my heart, understanding that with the type of team that we had, we should have been where we were last year."

Lawrence signed with the Seahawks in March after an 11-year run with the Dallas Cowboys. He recorded 6.0 sacks and two defensive touchdowns in 16 regular-season games, earning his fifth Pro Bowl nod. He had a sack in each of Seattle's first two playoff games before they beat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Complicating his decision was the birth of his daughter, Syenna, one day after the Super Bowl. "We was in there partying with T-Pain, and the baby came 12 hours later," Lawrence said. He made it back to Texas before she arrived. "Just to be able to have my mind set on receiving a child into this world -- my last child at that -- and then on top of it, put the cherry on the top and win a Super Bowl, I feel like that's all a man can dream of."
