Leonard Williams confirmed Tuesday that his agents and the Seattle Seahawks have had "a few conversations" about a new contract, though "nothing set in stone." The 32-year-old Pro Bowl defensive lineman is entering the final year of a three-year, $64.5 million deal signed in March 2024, five months after Seattle acquired him from the New York Giants. The team's policy prevents extensions with more than one season remaining, making Williams newly eligible.

Williams has made the Pro Bowl in both full seasons with Seattle and earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2025, totaling 18 regular-season sacks and adding a playoff sack for the Super Bowl LX champions. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that league executives, scouts and coaches voted Williams the NFL's best defensive tackle this offseason, with one coordinator calling him "the most important player on that Super Bowl team."

"I try not to think about it," Williams said of potential free agency. "When I focus on just being where I'm at... things always tend to work themselves out." Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles gave Jalen Carter a four-year, $152 million extension ($38 million annually), making him the highest-paid defensive tackle. Williams' $21.5 million average now ranks 14th among interior defensive linemen.
