The Seattle Seahawks signed defensive tackle Leonard Williams to a three-year, $90 million extension with $56 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Ian Rapoport, and Adam Schefter. Williams, 32, was set to become a free agent in 2027. The deal ties him with Vita Vea for the fifth-highest average annual salary among defensive tackles, behind Jalen Carter, Quinnen Williams, Jeffery Simmons, and Chris Jones.

"It feels amazing," Williams said while holding his newborn son Zion. "I think this is maybe my first time being extended while under contract with a team. It just goes to show what type of organization we have here." Head coach Mike Macdonald called Williams a "foundational player" and "absolute A-plus person."

The reigning Super Bowl champions have now locked up three stars this offseason: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (four-year, $168.6M), Devon Witherspoon (four-year, $132M), and Williams. Outside linebacker Derick Hall also received a three-year, $42M extension in June. Williams, acquired from the New York Giants in October 2023, has made the Pro Bowl in both full seasons with Seattle and earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2025, when the Seahawks led the NFL in scoring defense.
