Chase Utley, the six-time All-Star and heart of the 2008 World Series champions, was inducted into the Phillies’ Wall of Fame on Friday night in a star-studded ceremony. Meanwhile, left-hander Cristopher Sanchez became the first 15-game winner in the majors this season, striking out eight over 6.1 innings as the Phillies beat the Nationals 7-3 for their fifth straight victory.

Mets Injuries & Roster Moves

Mets rookie outfielder Carson Benge exited Friday’s game against the Pirates with left wrist soreness after making a sliding catch. New York also added infield depth, claiming Gabriel Arias off waivers from Cleveland; he is expected to join the club Saturday.

Red Sox Extend Streak

The Boston Red Sox won their ninth straight game Friday, routing the Athletics 8–2 as Payton Tolle fanned a career-high 14 batters over six innings and Wilyer Abreu drove in three runs. The streak began with Thursday’s wild 12–11, 13-inning win over the White Sox, where Caleb Durbin delivered the walk-off single.

Pitching Updates

Dodgers ace Blake Snell is expected to return from the injured list Tuesday against the Royals. In Texas, veteran lefty Jordan Montgomery was activated from the 60-day IL and will work out of the Rangers’ bullpen. Yankees left-hander Carlos Rodón begins a minor league rehab assignment Saturday as he recovers from elbow inflammation. The Twins placed ace Joe Ryan on the 15-day IL with a left glute strain.

White Sox Catcher Shuffle

Chicago recalled catcher Edgar Quero after placing Joey Bart on the 10-day IL with a fractured hand, another blow to the team’s catching depth.

A’s Front Office Change

The Athletics and longtime general manager David Forst “mutually agreed to part ways,” ending his three-decade tenure with the franchise as the club prepares for its relocation to Las Vegas.

Suspensions Handed Down

Mariners reliever Gabe Speier received a three-game suspension, and manager Dan Wilson received one game, after Speier hit Gleyber Torres with a pitch in Wednesday’s game against Detroit.

Braves Sweep Marlins

Ronald Acuña Jr. blasted two home runs—one aided by a Marlins outfield misplay—and Matt Olson also went deep as Atlanta crushed Miami 11–3 to complete a three-game sweep.
