Injury Report

The Rangers placed Nathan Eovaldi on the 15-day IL with elbow inflammation, while the Giants will be without Matt Chapman for the rest of the season after season-ending abdominal surgery Tuesday. The Phillies put Caleb Kilian on the 15-day IL with a left oblique strain. Mets reliever Devin Williams landed on the IL with a right shoulder strain, though the team expects a short stint. The Rays placed Griffin Jax on the IL with right elbow discomfort. Reds right-hander Hunter Greene will have season-ending UCL surgery and is out at least until 2026. Brewers shortstop Cooper Pratt landed on the IL with a strained right hamstring, testing the NL Central leaders’ infield depth. Marlins first baseman Kyle Stowers exited Sunday’s game early with a hamstring injury.

Roster Moves

The Diamondbacks added pitching reinforcements, activating Michael Soroka from the IL and signing Zack Littell to a one-year contract. The Red Sox expect to activate Adley Rutschman from the IL on Tuesday. Two-time All-Star shortstop Tim Anderson retired after 10 seasons. The Padres signed veteran outfielder Austin Hays and optioned Gage Workman to Triple-A.
