Club Transfers and Signings

Djed Spence has officially completed his move from Tottenham Hotspur to Inter Milan, signing a five-year contract. The transfer fee is reported to be around £30 million. Cristian Romero has also sealed a transfer from Tottenham Hotspur, joining Atlético Madrid. Meanwhile, Sunderland have agreed to a £25.6m fee for left-back Dayann Methalie from Toulouse. Paris Saint-Germain have finalized the signing of World Cup winner Ferran Torres from Barcelona for approximately £42.7 million. Hull City has secured the signings of English forward Joe Gelhardt from Leeds and French midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath from Red Bull Salzburg. Crystal Palace have signed Israel international Ana Khalaili on a deal running until 2031. Celtic have signed German midfielder Mika Baur from Paderborn on a four-year contract. Rangers have agreed to a loan deal for left-back James Penrice from AEK Athens, with an option to buy. Celtic winger is also reportedly looking set to depart, with three clubs interested.

Pre-Season Friendlies and Matches

Manchester United were defeated 4-2 by AC Milan in a preseason friendly, with Bruno Fernandes missing a penalty. Chelsea secured a 3-1 friendly victory over Real Sociedad in Xabi Alonso's first match as manager, with Morgan Rogers scoring his debut goal. Real Madrid secured a 1-0 win against Deportivo La Coruña, with Brahim Diaz scoring. Newcastle United changed shirts in the first half of their friendly against Bayer Leverkusen. Tottenham Hotspur recorded a 3-0 victory over Hoffenheim in a preseason friendly, with Mikey Moore scoring twice. Manchester United drew 1-1 with Leeds United in a friendly before winning 5-4 on penalties. Fulham's preseason friendly against Málaga CF ended in controversy when the English club walked off the pitch, and Fulham's manager was red-carded. Aston Villa lost 2-1 to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup, but 17-year-old striker Brian Madjo impressed on his debut.

League Season Openers and Standings

The new season of LaLiga has kicked off, though without the participation of Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atlético Madrid on the opening weekend. In League One, Huddersfield secured a 3-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon, while Stockport eased to a 3-1 win at Plymouth. Fleetwood Town began their campaign with a 1-0 victory at Chesterfield, thanks to a goal from Ched Evans. Charlton Athletic defeated Derby 2-1 with a late winner from Tyreece Campbell. Accrington drew 2-2 with Colchester, with Charlie Caton scoring twice. In League Two, Newport enjoyed a 3-0 home win against Rochdale, and Oldham secured a 2-0 home victory over Port Vale. Pakistan warmed up for their Test series against England with a seven-wicket win over a County Select XI, with Saud Shakeel scoring an unbeaten hundred and Imam-ul-Haq contributing. In The Hundred, the Manchester Super Giants reached the men's final after defeating Sun Risers Leeds, setting up a clash with Trent Rockets. Eleanor Givens secured her first Ladies European Tour title at the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open. In darts, Jonny Clayton beat Gerwyn Price 8-4 to win the New Zealand Darts Masters.
