Hull City have signed English forward Joe Gelhardt from Leeds and French midfielder Lucas Gourna‑Douath from Red Bull Salzburg for undisclosed fees. Gelhardt, 24, penned a four‑year deal with an option of a further 12 months, while Gourna‑Douath joined on a five‑year contract. The arrivals mark Hull’s 10th and 11th signings since returning to the Premier League.

Gelhardt, who began at Wigan, returns after two successful loan spells totalling 18 months. He netted 14 goals in the Championship last season and scored the decisive second leg goal in the play‑off victory over Millwall. “I’m over the moon… I’ve loved every minute of it,” he said after joining permanently.

Gourna‑Douath, a Saint‑Étienne graduate, spent four seasons with Salzburg, making 95 appearances, and was on loan at Le Havre for the second half of the last campaign, where he featured in 15 Ligue 1 matches. “It was such a long journey… I’m so excited to get started,” he commented.

Both players praised the Hull City environment. The club’s fans and staff have welcomed the reinforcements, positioning the Tigers for the upcoming Premier League season.
