Ferran Torres has joined European champions Paris St-Germain from Barcelona for a reported £42.7m (€50m). The 26-year-old forward signed a contract until 2031 after scoring the extra-time winner against Argentina to secure Spain's second men's World Cup title last month.

Torres enjoyed a strong season at Barcelona, netting 21 goals in 49 appearances with three assists while helping the club win La Liga. He arrives at a PSG side managed by former Barcelona coach and player Luis Enrique, under whom Torres made his Spain debut. The French champions have won the Champions League in the past two seasons.

Torres becomes PSG's second high-profile forward signing this summer following Maghnes Akliouche's arrival from Monaco. The club added the UEFA Super Cup to their trophy cabinet on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa. Meanwhile, PSG could lose Bradley Barcola to Liverpool this summer.
