Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Ferran Torres, the World Cup final hero, from Barcelona for £42.7m. Torres, who scored the decisive goal in Spain’s 2022 World Cup final against Argentina, has signed a long-term deal until 2031 and will wear the No 9 shirt. Despite interest in other forwards, PSG prioritized Torres, who netted 65 goals in 207 appearances for Barcelona, including in the Copa del Rey final.

The transfer may fund Barcelona’s pursuit of Manchester City’s Rodri, who rejected a £55m bid but remains a target. Torres’ move highlights his elite status and PSG’s ambition to strengthen their squad.
