James Penrice joins Rangers on loan from AEK Athens, with an option to buy, and describes the move as "a bit surreal". The 27-year-old Scot has played for Livingston, Hearts, Partick Thistle and East Fife before heading to the Greek top flight last summer.

In Greece, Penrice made 32 appearances for AEK Athens, 16 of them starts, and helped the club secure its 14th national title by beating reigning champions Olympiacos. He has over 300 senior club appearances and adds depth to Rangers’ defence.

The deal is subject to international clearance, with Rangers’ next game a home League Cup tie against St Mirren. The club also loses fellow left‑back Tuur Rommens dhin injury for up to seven weeks.

Manager Derek McInnes said Penrice will "bolster" the left side and provide competition. He praised the player’s experience, hunger and awareness of the expectations at the Ibrox club.
