The second public beta for iOS 27 is now available, offering early access to Apple's latest software update. The most significant new feature is Siri AI, rebuilt with Apple Intelligence to handle ongoing conversations, understand on-screen content, and perform actions within apps. The beta also introduces a redesigned Screen Time experience, refinements to Liquid Glass, and performance upgrades aimed at making iPhones feel faster, even older models. App launches are reportedly up to 30% faster, and AirDrop transfers up to 80% faster.

iOS 27 supports iPhone 11 and newer, but Apple Intelligence features, including advanced Siri capabilities, require an iPhone 15 Pro or newer. The update also brings AI-driven enhancements to other apps, such as Safari's automatic tab organization and Photos' new editing tools like Clean Up and Extend. The Passwords app can now automatically replace weak passwords, and Shortcuts can create automations from natural language requests.

Screen Time and parental controls have been significantly overhauled, offering parents a clearer view of a child's activity and more granular control over app usage and website access. Smaller but notable additions include improved background media sending in Messages, full-resolution Shared Albums in Photos, and customizable EQ for AirPods. The beta is available through the free Apple Beta Software Program.
