Poinpy: Free Mobile Game Returns

Poinpy, a mobile game that was once a Netflix exclusive, has returned and is now available for free on iOS and Android. The game was removed from the Netflix lineup in June of last year, making it inaccessible to players.

Publisher Devolver Digital had previously expressed hopes of bringing Poinpy to other platforms, and that future has now arrived. The game is completely free, with no microtransactions or ads.

Poinpy is described as a colorful inversion of the game Downwell. Instead of descending, players jump and bounce upwards through procedurally generated environments, collecting fruits to make juice for a pursuing beast. It features a roguelite structure with permanent upgrades and power-ups. The game offers a satisfying ending and post-credits scene upon completion.

Reviewers praise Poinpy as a "perfect platformer," highlighting its gameplay, art style by Error403, and soundtrack by Calum Bowen. The game's return and free availability are seen as a source of joy.
