The iOS 27 public beta is now available, bringing more than 30 performance improvements that make iPhones significantly faster. Apple says it combed through its software so everyday tasks feel faster, smoother, and more enjoyable.

Highlights include Photos loading new captures up to 70% faster, Safari web app performance gains, AirDrop transfers up to 80% faster, and app launches up to 30% faster on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Other improvements span Camera, Mail, HomeKit, Music, Freeform, Health, Workout, Lock Screen, NFC, Voice Control, PDF saving, Spotlight, and more.

iOS 27 supports iPhones back to the iPhone 11 lineup, with Apple's metrics based on testing on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The update also includes a ground-up Siri revamp. The beta is available to developers and public testers now, with a general release planned for fall.
