Apple announced it has achieved 100% recycled materials in three product categories ahead of Earth Day, marking a significant step toward its 2030 carbon neutrality goal. The company published its latest Environmental Progress Report, revealing that 30% of materials across its entire product range now come from recycled sources, with select components reaching complete recycled content.

The report details that all Apple-designed batteries now use 100% recycled cobalt, while magnets incorporate 100% recycled rare earth elements. Printed circuit boards feature 100% recycled gold plating and tin soldering. Apple also fulfilled its 2025 commitment to eliminate plastic from packaging, transitioning to 100% fiber-based materials through innovative paper alternatives and improved recyclability.

As part of its Earth Day celebration, Apple is offering a 10% discount on AirPods and accessories for customers who recycle eligible devices at Apple Stores through May 16. Recycled products undergo thorough screening before being processed through Apple's advanced recycling systems, including Daisy and Cora. The company highlighted the MacBook Neo as its most environmentally friendly device yet, featuring 60% recycled content and a water-efficient anodization process that reuses 70% of water.
