Apple has kicked off beta testing of iOS 27.2, which brings several notable changes and new features. The update is expected to be released to iPhone users as soon as next month. iOS 27.2 entered beta testing on September 16, just two days after iOS 27 was released. Apple previously confirmed that iPhone Duo will ship with iOS 27.1 when it’s released on October 23, making iOS 27.1 exclusive to that device. Software paths will converge with iOS 27.2.x or iOS 27.3.

Key new features in iOS 27.2 include a redesigned Health app split into three tabs: Insights, Longevity, and Browse. The Longevity tab includes a new Health age feature using Apple Watch data. The Apple TV app adds support for profiles for the first time. Siri AI support expands to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. Dual Capture mode for FaceTime is now available for Group FaceTime calls, requiring an iPhone 17 or later.

Other changes: In Apple Podcasts, “Up Next” is renamed to “New Episodes.” The Music app changes some red icons to black. Call Context expands to include anniversaries. The Clock app has smaller AM/PM labels. Code hints at future features like live countdowns for album releases in Apple Music, third-party support for Describe a Shortcut, new Car Play Ultra themes, and an anti-snatching feature.
