The company announced pre-orders are now open for the device, which includes 90 percent recycled aluminum and 100 percent recycled cobalt in its battery.

This achievement represents a major step toward Apple's goal of being fully carbon neutral by 2030. The MacBook Neo's enclosure uses a material-efficient forming process that requires 50 percent less aluminum compared to traditional machining methods. The recycled aluminum content alone makes up a substantial portion of the device's overall recycled materials achievement.

The 60 percent figure specifically refers to the device's weight and does not include packaging or in-box accessories. Apple clarified that this record applies to products, not accessories, which are categorized separately.
