Apple's new MacBook Neo has achieved a significant sustainability milestone, featuring 60 percent recycled content by weight - the highest percentage in any Apple product to date. The company announced pre-orders are now open for the device, which includes 90 percent recycled aluminum and 100 percent recycled cobalt in its battery.

This achievement represents a major step toward Apple's goal of being fully carbon neutral by 2030. The MacBook Neo's enclosure uses a material-efficient forming process that requires 50 percent less aluminum compared to traditional machining methods. The recycled aluminum content alone makes up a substantial portion of the device's overall recycled materials achievement.

The 60 percent figure specifically refers to the device's weight and does not include packaging or in-box accessories. Apple clarified that this record applies to products, not accessories, which are categorized separately. The MacBook Neo demonstrates how sustainable manufacturing practices can be integrated into premium consumer electronics without compromising design or performance.
