Apple could announce the AirPods 5 as early as next month's expected iPhone event, according to a new report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The upcoming lineup is said to include both regular and noise-cancellation variants, marking an update to Apple's entry-level earbuds last refreshed in 2024.

Gurman's report also indicates that Apple's next event is scheduled for September 9 and will feature the first foldable iPhone, the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, and new Apple Watches. The company is reportedly preparing a range of new Apple Watches with minor changes, including upgrades to fitness tracking and a ceramic-case option for Series 12 models.

While camera-equipped AirPods are not expected until next year, Apple is allegedly developing two such models that will use Visual Intelligence and Siri for AI-powered features. A demo video of the camera-equipped AirPods was mistakenly included in the macOS 26.7 release candidate, though it did not clearly show physical differences.

The AirPods 5 timeline has been scarce, with the earbuds previously expected to arrive in 2027. Apple has not yet confirmed any of these details.
